安息儀式
December 24, 2020

*Special thanks to Keyee Hsu for taking photos and videos
May we sing together, always
May our voice be soft
May our singing be music for others
And may it keep others aloft
Sing, sing gently, always
Sing, sing as one
May we stand together, always
May our voice be strong
May we hear the singing and
May we always sing along
Sing, sing gently, always
Sing, sing as one
Singing gently as one
lyrics
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face to shine upon you
To shine upon you and be gracious
And be gracious unto you
The Lord bless you and keep you
The Lord lift up the light of His countenance upon you
The Lord lift up the light of His countenance upon you
And give you peace, and give you peace;
And give you peace, and give you peace
lyrics
As I was walking deep in sorrow thinking about the times we shared
A butterfly danced round me, a white cloud in the evening air
And I knew that your soul was finally home and free
But it felt like a blessing, a message from you to me
Now you can fly, now you can soar
So high above this world where troubles are no more
The time has come to say goodbye
And let your soul go to heaven on the wings of a butterfly
Just a few days after they called us to a church to pray
Loved ones gathered round you to bless and send you on your way
And as I got up to speak, it suddenly caught my eye
White wings against the window, a beautiful butterfly...
Now you can fly, now you can soar
So high above this world where troubles are no more
This love of ours will never die
So let your soul go to heaven on the wings of a butterfly
One day we'll meet again in heaven and we'll fly like that butterfly
lyrics
Please do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
I am a thousand winds
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glint on snow
I am a thousand winds that blow
Please do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die
I am the swift rush of birds in flight
I am the stars that shine at night
I am a thousand winds
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glint on snow
I am a thousand winds that blow

Mom's Chinese name is "Virtuous Wind"
On the day of the Interment Ceremony unexpected winds kicked up as the Service was drawing to a close. And the incredibly strong winds continued to blow all night.
Uncle Howard told us about this moving song
"I am a Thousand Winds"
We set the Interment film to two Japanese versions of this music.

Due to the cold windy conditions after the service, we released the butterflies the day after on Christmas Day.
Chloe, Evelyn and Austen took excellent care of them during the night. The butterflies were very happy to fly off into the warm sunshine.
